Behind the Screams Weekend

To all those whom attended our very first Behind the Screams event I want to thank you for coming. I hope that you enjoyed all the festivities.

Day 1 Friday Night

So we meet at the park at 7PM. Got our VIP tickets and picked up our itinerary for the evening. The park looked great. The weather did cooperate and gave the atmosphere an eerie appearance. We were provided with snacks and they were creepy snacks. We had a witches brew, I don't know what was in it but I believe it was green, and all different kinds of festive foods. After getting our bellies full on Halloween snacks it was time to head to the mazes. Opening night did have its tangles but all in all KD did a great job. I am a scardy cat and decided that I would wait until Saturday to enter the mazes but I did go through the scare zones and my favorite is the Harvest. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and it was a great evening.

Day 2 Saturday

So we got the run of the park on Saturday. Most everyone showed up about 10 or 11. I was still tired from Friday night. Lunch was at 1:30 so we just walked around the park and hit up Dominator until it was time for lunch. Launch was awesome. We had an all you can eat buffet. Lunch consisted of hot dogs, chicken, hamburgers, side dishes, and all the fixings. They even had the best brownies ever for dessert. After we all had our bellies full (do you see a pattern here?) it was time to do our VIP tours. Our friend John Pagel from marketing gave us a guided tour of Club Blood, Toxic Plague and Black Beards Revenge. It was awesome to get to walk through the mazes during th day. We were able to see all the hiding places and some of the group took it upon themselves to see if they could jump out and scare me and of course it worked. Seeing the way the mazes are set up and how it all works was interesting. It helped me deal with the fact that tonight was the night that I had to put my fears aside and go through the mazes.

After our tours John then took us to the costume shop where we were able to see how the employees get transformed into scaracters. We were able to go backstage and see the makeup artist transforming the employees. It was so awesome. It is amazing what they can do. All the prosthetics are made in house and the makeup crew was like 8 people. It was a great experience. The stuff that the haunt employees have to go through to scare the park guests is unreal. We were in the costume shop for a couple of hours and that is where our VIP tour ended.

It was now that time again to enjoy the haunt and time for me to go through the mazes. With a little help from some of the men in the group I was able to get through all of the houses unharmed. Now while in Club Blood a big scary looking creature got right up beside me and said Rose, Rose. Look it really freaked me out.

Our very first Behind the Screams weekend was a great experience and I believe that we had a lot of fun. Thanks to KD for making the event possible and thanks to all of you who participated.

Hopefully we will be able to have another Behind the Screams event next year!
