What plans "if any" do they have for the area behind Anaconda? - RockRaider

How long does it take to plan a coaster- from the initial sketches down to the media day? - Brad
Dominator took 9 months (very different situation), but most large scale projects take years of planning before a single piece of dirt is moved.

Will KD replace Hypersonic with a launch coaster? - yournamehere

KD is constantly looking to improve the overall guest experience, if a reliable Launch coaster becomes available, it may be considered.

If you consider Hurler a great ride then why don't you consider Hypersonic a great ride? - CongoThrills15

It is onsite, but currently the future is unknown.

KD is currently exploring new and different options for the Action Theater area for future projects

We do not currently have many ride POVs on file. I do have plans to shoot POVs on all KD coasters. I will look into the possibility of making them available online.

Will the website be changed to the same style as the current Cedar Point website? - yournamehere

CF is looking to have a unified look, re-skinning of our website may be coming soon

Ask KD: part 2

Once again I had a chance to sit down with Kings Dominions Marketing Manager, John Pagel and ask him some questions that you, the fans turned in via the forum. This is what he had to say:


How big does Doswell (Hanover co) want KD to get? - cpmill1

Kings Dominion still owns large amounts of property that is undeveloped and there are currently no restrictions that have been placed on KD specifically regarding growth.

Are there any height restrictions on how tall you can build a coaster? - cpmill1

Generally, at this point there aren't any restrictions on how tall coasters can be built. The Doswelll Hanover Co. area doesn't have height restrictions on structures.

What would you say is KD's biggest asset? - cpmill1

Location within Large MAJOR DMAs of D.C., Richmond, Norfolk/Hampton Roads and ROOM TO GROW!

Will Kings Dominion ever re-pave their parking lot? - TheMysteryMiner

Its been on the "things to do list" for a few years

Will KD try to compete with BGE's Christmas Town? - KDFAN

NO. KD conducted research (years ago) to investigate the viability of a X-mas event. The results said, "no." BGE has a built in x-mas market in the Williamsburg market, so they should be successful.

Is Nickelodeon leaving? - Lake Charles Guy

The Nick licensing agreement expires at the end of 2009. At this point, that is all the information that is available.

When does the contract end for Kings Dominion to have the rights to use Scooby-Doo characters/themeing? - BuschSchoe

Nickelodeon's is up at the end of the 2009 season. Scooby can stick around for a while, KD does not have a specific end date.

Could Hanna-Barbera ever come back? - Lake Charles Guy

Possibly, but we must take into account, brand power.

Once the contract does end with the Nickelodeon and Scooby-Doo characters/theming, are you going to use Peanuts theming like the rest of the Cedar Fair parks? - BuschSchoe
It is too soon to assume that we will not renew with Nickelodeon

Is Cedar Fair happy with our attendance so far? Did Dominator pay off? - cpmill1
KD has a great year in 2008 and we-expect another great year in 2009. With the challenges of 2008, like gas prices, it was hard to gauge the true impact of the Dominator. We loveIT!

Why is Kings Dominion getting so many re-used stuff lately? A reused coaster, 2 re-used flats, a re-used show, whats up? - TheMysteryMiner

Does Re-located ride mean "not as good" NO. Re-located rides allow KD to continually expand our selection without breaking the bank.

What is the timeframe, if any, for the replacement of Coca-Cola with Pepsi? - Travis

Coke is KD's official beverage. The current plan for the Kings Dominion is Coke through the 2011 season.
